Collaborative Care Model (CoCM): Adolescent Training is built upon the content provided in the foundational training, CoCM: Base. This training is intended to help the primary care physicians, psychiatric consultant physicians, behavioral health care managers, and other primary care practice team members gain the foundational knowledge and skills for implementing CoCM with the adolescent population. After completing this activity, participants will be able to apply CoCM with the adolescent population, focusing on patient caseload, suicide assessment, and treatment of depression and anxiety.

This training occurs over two days. Primary care physicians are only required to attend day one. Training is optional for psychiatric consultants.

Day One:

  • Eligibility Recommendation and Caseload Size
  • Overview of Adolescent Depression and Anxiety
  • Treatment of Adolescent Depression and Anxiety
  • Suicide Assessment in Adolescents

Day Two:

  • Adolescent Brain Development
  • Overview of Care Management
  • Assessing and Engaging Adolescents in Care Coordination
  • Overview of Evidence Based Psychotherapeutic Modalities
  • Self-Care, Critical Component of Adolescent Depression and Anxiety Management

The base training is required prior to completing the adolescent training.
