Identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders.
Description of Course:
This is a public education program that teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This training gives participants the skills needed to support someone experiencing a crisis.
This live virtual training will take place over three non-consecutive days.
- Wednesday, September 18th: Day 1 (12 p.m. - 2 p.m.)
- Friday, September 20th: Day 2 (12 p.m. - 2 p.m.)
- Thursday, September 26th: Day 3 (12 p.m. - 2 p.m.)
Learning Objectives:
- Evaluate the impact of early intervention on mental health challenges.
- Apply the appropriate steps of the MHFA action plan to scenarios of escalating acuity.
- Choose appropriate methods for self-care following the application of MHFA strategies.
Attendance is required on all 3 days.
