This presentation will discuss the importance of recognizing the autonomy of patients with disabilities and the need to change the way medical personnel think about and address patients with disabilities. Recent clarification of patient rights during the COVID-19 crisis will be brought into the conversation, and you will hear directly from a co-presenter with an intellectual and developmental disability about what they have faced in seeking medical treatment throughout their life.
If you require accommodations to fully participate in this meeting, please contact micmt-requests@med.umich.edu.
